As my Man would say, "Jaimie's hobby of the week" :)

So for my hobby this week, I'm trying to make the wild woman a nightgown. I have no experience sewing clothes what-so-ever. Quilts, you bet, but no clothes. And of course I did a typical Jaimie thing and assumed that all I really needed to do was sort of follow the tracing of one of her nightgowns she has now and just sew it together. haha I can laugh at myself but not enough to show you a picture of the first one! haha Wow. When Ben came home he just smiled and encouraged me. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing husband. I'm also blessed with an awesome Mom-in-Law who will hopefully help me in my sewing pattern illiteracy when we come home! :) It's just one of her many talents! Love you!!!

Needless to say, I'm researching patterns and the right way to do things! I'll put pictures up when I can find a pattern I like. I'm going to the thrift store to get some men's t-shirts for the fabric. I'd like to eventually use Ben's shirts for her nighties so she can have something of his when he's away. Sigh.

Here's my hobby of the week and finding sewing supplies in the German stores...

Poor Forgotten Blog...

Poor blog, I won't even count how long it's been since I've wrote, but I will say I'm sorry. I thinking, just thinking about trying the blog thing out...again :) I feel like there's just so much happening in our lives, so much God has blessed us with, so many lesson's He's trying to get it though our thick heads, so many recipes, and last but not least- so many funny/crazy/can't make this stuff up things Audrey is doing that I want to share. And I don't want to share it on Facebook. I've found it was sucking the life out of me (as pretty much anything truly can). I don't want a social networking site to become an idol. Does that sound as crazy to you as it does to me? Yikes.

I love, love, love the idea of journaling. Do I love the idea of sitting with pen in hand to write it all down? Nope. Not in the least. As my Mom would attest to, my handwriting is horrible, ridiculous actually. It gets even worse when I'm in a hurry, tired, or trying to make it look nice :) This is where I'm thankful for computers. I think that technology is taking away some extremely important things but it does have some upsides. Maybe, just maybe in the years to come-God willing- when I'm teaching our kiddos how to write, I could improve my penmanship? Until then, I'm counting this keyboard as a huge blessing, a gift, and I'm going to use it.

A "family member" recently sent us a box full of pure joy. She sent jerky for my husband (hole-in-one), a book with animals and music for the wild woman (another hole-in-one), and two books for me (I'm a girl after her own heart). Aud had the book in Ben's lap to read in seconds flat after taking his jerky from him, and I was curled up on the love seat looking at my new books, while the music was being stored and played on itunes. The books were One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp and A book on Revelation. I started the first and couldn't put it down! It's such a great book. The beginning is a little intense but turns into such an amazingly well written book on how to find the joy, thanksgiving, and grace of God in exactly what we have, what we've been gifted with right now. She starts a project of naming 1000 of them and it talks about her journey thought it. I'm almost finished with it and will probably re-read it right after I finish it. I visited her website today and it's awesome, I highly HIGHLY recommend checking it out! www.aholyexperience.com

Anyways, I think I'm going to do that, name 1000 everyday gifts God has blessed me with so that I might fine true joy, thanksgiving and grace -all from Him. Things are changing here in our little family and I'm so excited about it. It's like one huge TAAA DAAA moment for me that keeps going! I'd like to start it now but want to finish reading the book first.

Aud's has been trying to cut lower teeth/molars for the past week and whew, it's been a tough one for her. Even though she's been hurting pretty good she's still our happy lil' wild woman! When she wakes up in morning she'll say HI then pannn- caaaakies (pancakes). It makes me laugh so hard! And today was the first time she asked for them after waking up from her nap! :) The girl loves her pancakes! Sometimes she'll ask for all 3 of her favorite breakfast things, eggies, toast and pancakies! She's the best! I can't wait to share some other of her moments but my man is patiently waiting for me to finish up so we can spend a few minutes together before he goes to bed!

Encouraged!

Okay, I know, it's been forever and a day since I've last posted something but!.... thanks to a sweet friend of mine, I'm inspired to write again.

I can't even being to tell you how much Auddy's grown. SIX MONTHS OLD!!! She's sitting up all by her self, she's starting to crawl, she can almost go from laying to sitting, clapping and waving, laughing and spitting- I could go on for page with all the things our wonderful little girl is doing! Thanking God that right now all she's doing is sleeping! We're just getting over her first cold, runny nose and coughing. I know it's the first of many but, it still was (and forever will be) so hard to see her not feeling good.

Ben's off the next three days and I'm so excited to spend some much needed time with my little family. Ben's had to work a ton of days straight due to some things at work so I'm pretty excited he's going to be all ours for more than a day! Aud is such a Daddy's girl, it's hard on both of them when he has to go in more than usual.

We have some traveling coming up at the end of the month and some day trips here and there that I can't wait to blog about! We also have a new travel companion with us for a little while. Flat Stanley is going to tagging along! I've got to admit, I was so excited about it! I have big plans for Flat Stanley and can't wait to send the pictures back of his trips. Today was his photoshoot at the Kennels! It was great! I want to wait and have more pictures of him before I post them. Until then, I'll just have to show you a picture of the most beautiful girl in the entire world...

(Side note, my spell check isn't working- it's trying to correct the entire post in German... not sure how I'm going to fix that one..)

2 month Apt!

Yesterday was the big day! Audrey had her 2 month doctors appointment! We had an early appointment which really wasn't a big deal since we get up early then she takes a morning nap (or two). We left and as I was making my way to the Autobahn, I noticed a pile up of cars. I was like great, it's too late to go the other way and my cell phone is out of minutes to call and tell them we'll be late or even to call Ben. We took two cars because he had somethings to do after her appointment on base and I wasn't sure how she would do. Anyways, the backup was from the other direction of traffic. Here there were three cars involved in a pile up and had traffic jammed the entire 2-3miles to the Autobahn. The road where it happened is where 3 exits of the Autobahn meet. It was backed up everywhere except where we were going! haha

We got there checked in and were called right back. The entire day and night before I was fretting about her shots. I know, I can't help it. I'll get better though, knowing she does awesome with it. She weighted 13lbs 12oz 24 1/5 inches long! That put her at the 93%wt and the 96%ht. The doctor asked if she was a 4 month old! haha Everything developmentally was more like a 4month old he said! I was just so proud! She still has her blocked tear duct but is better that it was.

Since the Tylenol recall there has been nothing on base. A large part of it is because they don't carry generic brands of alot of things. And of course the bottles I had were the recalled ones. With the help of Aunt Susie I figured out what her dose would be of children's tylenol since they did have that in the BX generic brand. I went in on Wednesday and grabbed the last bottle! Whew! Then when we got the appointment, the doctor gave us a script for some through the pharmacy.

The moment came and it was shot time. I was throwing back and forth only getting two shots that day then getting the other two on Monday but when we went back, she only had three ready. Here the Rotavirus is now an oral vaccine! So we opted to get them all at once. Ben held her legs and blocked so I could see. She wailed at first but as soon as we picked her up and gave her the bink, she was okay. I cried longer than she did. Just tears, not wailing! We got her calmed down, gave her the tylenol and she went to sleep for about an hour.

With her doing so awesome, we stayed on base with Ben while he had his dentist appointment and grabbed some lunch. She woke up and was just as happy as could be! I couldn't believe it! She fell back asleep through lunch and didn't wake up until we got home. When Ben came home he took Audrey so I could take a nap. She ended up falling asleep again too!

She did so great. She only got a little warm and fussy in the evening but did wonderful. I gave her a bath, she nursed, got her medicine, and put herself to sleep. I ended up staying up a little later than I wanted to just getting some things done after everyone was sleeping.

Still no passport....... ahhh but hopefully very soon! Keep praying!!!

Big Girl!

So Miss Auddy is almost 9 weeks old! She has her 2 month appointment coming up and I can't wait to see how much she weights and how tall she is! She's doing so much better at sleeping through the night! We've have a few stretches of 8 hours but it's usually 5-6. The past few night have been a little off. She's been WIDE awake, wanting to play until about 2330! But on Friday night, she was in bed sleeping at 1930. I think I just need to get better at giving her a routine, not so much a time routine but the same things every night. Her mornings are great. She wakes up, plays a little, eats, gets dressed, eats some more, helps make Momma breakfast and is usually napping by 0900. I get to read my Bible, read some news, do some laundry, and have just a few minutes to myself.

We're still waiting on her passport.... please pray it gets here soon. I'm making my lists of things to take home, making piles-I could have us packed and ready to go in no time!

Getting Better

We made it through! Whew. Ben's starting to feel better and Audrey hasn't gotten sick! Thank you God! I'm still fighting a scratchy throat but that's nothing! It's been a long week. We found another car. It was a good deal and is very nice. Ben found a '98 BMW 523i. This is the only time in our lives we will ever completely own two BMWs haha!! It's silver with black leather inside. Auddy's car-seat fits 100% better in this car. We can actually recline our seats and not hit it.

Ben's working this weekend so we don't have much planned. Well, I do have some cleaning and putting clothes away, but my heart won't be broken if it doesn't get done :). She's getting so big! She's really trying to coo now, it's so adorable. After she wakes up and when I'm changing her diaper she'll tell me stories and smile like crazy! It just makes me melt. She holds her head up like a big girl and whenever she's on her belly she scoots! I can't believe she's going to be 2 months old soon! My guess is she will be every bit of 14lbs!

She had her hearing screening the other day and the tech said "wow, she got great numbers!" She does very well at following our voices, turning towards noises. I had my 6wk check up yesterday and it went very well. I'm all cleared for exercising. When she told me that I laughed and thought, well isn't dancing, holding, walking, lifting and 13lbs baby all day just that?

Anyways, it's bedtime here and I am spent. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes! We love and miss you all! Have a great day!

One of those Weekends!

So it went from one of those days to one of those weekends! I couldn't wait for the weekend to get here. Ben had off and we were going to do something special together, even if it was just something small. He had some things to take care of on base Friday morning so Audrey and I tagged along. While he was doing his thing with work we went to the BX to try and find some things we were going to get the last time we were one base but couldn't due to the lovely car situation. Anyways, we get in make our way to the baby section and Aud made it known she did not want to be in her car seat! haha So I scoped her up and we went to check out some clothes. We didn't make it real far, the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. We went out to the car, had a snack, then went to see the girls at WIC. I had so questions about taking the dairy out of my diet for one of the dietitians. It worked out great, I fed Aud and Ben called saying he was all finished. Audrey was out cold so we made a quick stop to the commissary.

We got home, had some lunch, napped a little bit, and Ben said he wasn't feeling good. He started getting chills, achy all over, and had just been holding Audrey. So I made another run to the store to get some sick supplies. I just kept praying for Ben, that he'd feel better and that Auddy didn't get sick. I had him keep his distance from her but it's a pretty small apartment. Yesterday he was still pretty sick. Spent most of the day in bed. Aud was pretty fussy and wanting to eat every hour. I thought maybe it'd be good for us to get out. So I packed us up and tired to go to the BX for the third time. Still didn't make it! haha It was so packed! She got really hungry so I found a spot to feed her. She just wasn't having it. So we packed back up, at least we got out for a little bit, and headed home. She cat napped through the day for about 45 mins here and there. I put her in the tub around 19, she slept for an hour woke up and did not want to go to sleep! haha Finally around 2200 she did and slept till 0330! She was so tired.

Ben's feeling a little better. He's up and moving around. Thank goodness Aud is asleep and I finally got to take a shower. It's been a rough weekend. We didn't go to church this morning, we opted for church via live feed internet. I miss our families so much, especially at times like this. Thank you Mom for the Chicken and Rice soup you froze, it was so wonderful!

Please keep us in your prayers. I'm so thankful Ben's feeling better and that Audrey hasn't gotten sick yet. My throats pretty raw but I got some good sleep last night so I'm golden! Love you all!
