T-Ball TIme!

Thanks to Daddy and the thrift store, we now are able to play T-ball like a pro at our house! Audrey seems to really like it. She hits the ball great and then after a few good swings- hitting other things with the bat seem to be more appealing... :)

Travel Potty Time!

Audrey is rocking the potty training business!!! We're so proud of our girl!! What we're having some trouble with is when we have to use the public potty. Audrey has to completely take off her pants and panties then her shoes to even think about going to the potty-everytime! haha It's not biggie at home, but imagine in a public restroom while trying to keep hands where they should, feet and clothes off the ground... Anybody who knows me, knows I can be a little crazy, okay nuts, about germs. Add a couple extra shakes of crazy thanks to my nursing education, then a few more shakes thanks to being a Momma, then double it with a newborn that had open heart surgery.

SOOO, to make a long post short- we're going to be investing $15 in a travel potty that will be kept in the car that will be used before and after we get out of the car! That way, when I get brave enough to run errands with both kiddos, I won't have to worry about taking Judah into the bathroom! I can remember my Mom always having our travel potty in the car and it was never an issue! :) haha Ooh the things we remember!!

I think we're going to try this one out... We'll let you know how it goes :)

3 Months Old!!!

Our Judah cub is 3 months old, can you believe it???????? Our biggie boy is just growing growing growing. He's some pictures and stats for this month!

Weight: 15lbs -ish
Height: 24inches-ish

Sleep:
Judah is all over the place with sleeping :) He will go anywhere from sleeping 5 hours at night (rare) to 2 hrs. He hit a growth spurt and for 3 nights he was eating every 1 1/2 hours, it was a rough one. Then, he slept non-stop for the following 2 days. Gotta love those growth spurts. Judah loves his naps. He likes to eat, play for about and 1 1/2hrs then he's ready for bed.

Eating:
Not counting the growth spurt, Judah usually eat every 2.5-3.5 hours. He loves to eat and it's really starting to show! The chub is really starting to cling to his leggies!! Judah pediatrician recommend starting him on cereal at his 2month appointment, which was actually his 2 1/2 month appointment. He said with his size, how he holds his head up, that he might be ready for it. We tried a few times but Judah wasn't having it and we're not going to push it.

Development:
Judah is the happiest lil' guy ever. You just have to look him in the eyes and he starts smiling, then wiggling because he can't smile any bigger! It's the best. He's laughing now, eating his hannies, lifting his legs to see his toes, and trying to roll over! I can hardly believe it. He's really close which blows me away! It took Audrey a long time to figure out she needed to turn her hips and not just her head and shoulders. Judah is almost all the way on his side, then he see's his hands and forget's what he was doing. He's sitting up so great, turning to find your voice and to see you, trails things, trying to hold on to some things, loves to play with different textures (mainly soft and silky ones).

With every smile, every milestone he's hitting, I can't help but just Praise God. I tell everyone that comes up to him in public what God has already done in his life and will do so for the rest of his life.

Rough Week

ugh, it's been a rough week. Audrey started with cold about a week and a half ago, then last Friday I felt it coming on. Usually I have a few days where I can try and curb it but not this time. I was full out sick last Saturday. Of course, I get the sick when Ben has no chance of getting off, it's how it happens all the time. We both thought back and every time I've been sick, he's had to work.

I was a mess. I was so scared about getting Judah sick, I felt like I wasn't taking good care of the kiddos and Ben was feeling horrible that there was nothing he could do. I needed help with the kids and could barely take care of myself.

Praise Jesus that Ben was allowed to drive halfway home after work on Saturday to meet his Mom so we could go back home with her. I felt bad because it was a really late night for Ben and he had to get up in the morning but there was no other way to do it. I know it was a lot of running but when you're lying on the floor crying because you know you're not being a good Momma, because you feel like you've been hit by a bus, because you want to hold your baby close but don't want him sick because it could mean another stay in the hospital, because you're alone and needing help- it didn't matter how much running had to happen. I'm just so thankful, so thankful my Mom-in-law drove 3hrs both ways to pick me and the kids up to take care of us. She welcomed us and all of our germs in for a few days until I felt better.

I'm still coughing a good bit but feeling much better. I was able to rest while my kiddos were loved on and taken care of. The wild woman had a blast with her Oma, Meemim, Aunt Doedoe, Uncle Jake and her Poppa's. The best part is that Judah has not been sick. Such a blessing and pure answer to prayer.

Judah had a good time too! He's such a happy boy and is really growing! Chub is being added by the day and he's trying to roll over! I can't believe how fast he's growing and with every new thing he does, I just can't help but be full of praise and thankfulness.

Week 2 Meals

Well we've made some changes at our house. Daddy is following a Paleo Diet and the rest of us are pretty much following a Paleo diet as well, except we do whole grains.  Some of the meals have things in it that Ben can't eat but I just either take out for him or just grill his meat for him and make extra veggies. The wild woman still can't handle dairy, well only if it's a small amount and it's cooked, and Judah has an extremely hard time when I eat it. So it's really no big deal not to have any dairy products, it's the whole grains he's missing.

Anyways, it's a long weekend coming up with Ben working 3 days in a row so meals are going to be simple simple. That being said, I also have to do the grocery shopping today or tomorrow so I had to meal plan a little early. I'm trying 5 new recipes this week! I found a blog for frozen crock-pot meals that I'm going to try first and see how we like them before I make a ton of frozen crock-pot meals that we've never tried.... I'm learning. I'm switching it up just a little. I'm going to try and sub in pork for one of the chicken recipes. Here's the site for the Friday's, Monday's, and Wednesday's meals.

Friday
Honey Rosemary Chicken
Couscous
Carrots

Saturday
Quinoa
Fruit Salad

Sunday
Pasta with meat sauce (using beef this week)
Homemade bread
Spinach Salads

Monday
Coconut Curry Chicken over White Rice
Spinach Salad

Tuesday
Italian Veggie Hoagies on homemade french bread
Sweet Potato Fries

Wednesday
Santa Fe Pork over Brown Rice
Green beanies

Thursday
Oma's Waffels
Bacon
Fruit

Friday
Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Corn
*I'm going to use my own bread crumbs from left over bread, leave out the milk and make a mini loaf for the wild woman that has cheese in it. I also make one loaf to eat and one to freeze. I've made this recipe with the milk and shredded cheese and it's amazing. Highly recommend it!
