Home again!

After 4 days back in the hospital for a wound infection- we're home again praise God! I'm feeling okay, still sick, little bit of a fever but these antibiotics seem to be doing something. Mastitis is the worst. Anyways, I'll try and do better keeping this updated. We only had our itouch in the hospital since our computer didn't like the serve or something and it's just way to hard typing a post on the itouch.  My Mom is here and is helping us out the next few days- I know, she's amazing.

sick and exhausted but nothing bets the lovin' of my two kiddos!

Thank you Jesus!

We've been home a little over 24hours, thank you Jesus. Judah loves being home, Audrey loves having Judah at her house, and we are so thankful to have everybody under one roof.

Last night went very well. Audrey woke up at the 0030 feeding-Judah was telling me how much he didn't like the way I was holding him... and she helped :) Just like she'd get up through the night to "help me pump" God love her. She went back to bed after a little coxing. Judah's trying to get the hang of the whole nursing concept. He's doing so much better than last night. I'm so proud of him and just so grateful to be able to nurse him. Another answer to prayer :) He was taking his sweet ol' time to eat, he's catching on!

We went to church this morning and it went extra well. He ate at the beginning and slept the whole service and whole ride home. Praise God this kiddo is a good sleeper!!!! ANOTHER answer to prayer :) Audrey even stayed in her class- she did it all by herself. She told Ben, "I want to play with those kiddos" When I came back in from feeding him they weren't there, I just figured they were out getting some of Aud's energy out or having a talk. Ben came back in alone and I was shocked! haha It was good. She had a good time. She ran back into the sanctuary and said "I need to sing more now Momma" At our old church in Germany we'd stay the first part of the second service so she could worship too, it was her favorite part. Here at Sovereign Grace they worship and then break for kid's classes. It was neat to see how her mind was processing it.

Judah's been eating great, I was able to rest for about an hour, Ben's been such an amazing help, and I think we're going to bed soon. Thank you so much for your prayers. God is so good and has shown his mighty hand through all of this. I give Him all the glory, all of it.

I have pictures to go through and will be putting some up soon!

Or maybe tomorrow?

Today wasn't our day either. It's okay, really. We'd much rather be cautious about this than not and we're thankful the cardiologist team feels the same way. The best Daddy in the world is staying with Judah Cub hopefully for the last night. I'm still not feeling myself but better than yesterday.

Judah's surgeon has given him the okay to head home so hopefully the ECHO, EKG, and the 24 holter monitor results all come back fine (which is what they think it will show) so we can go home tomorrow. The wild woman's been telling me "bring him to my house Momma" :) We're trying sweetheart, we're trying.

Some good news- Judah's learning to eat a little better. Hopefully we can work on the breastfeeding when he gets home now that Daddy's been working with him to get used to a little faster flow. He's also taking a good bit more and wanting to eat every 2 hours instead of the grazing he'd been doing. He's back up to 9lbs too! Praise God! I just keep praying that he has no issue with growth like most CHD kiddos do. Given his birth weight- you'd think he'd have no issue with that :)

Maybe tomorrow?

Yesterday was a rough day for me. Judah did great- I just had a rough day. We were planning on discharge today but he started having some arrhythmia's and needed to go back on his oxygen. At first I was really upset that it was happening and that we wouldn't be going home. Then I calmed down and realized that he is in the best place possible and if he's not ready, he's not ready.

I stayed the night before and slept probably 3 hours total. There were about 50 people in and out of his room, a possible MRI with sedation that I did not want him to go through (it was optional for a research study on his CHD), I had a fever thanks to the mastitis, and emotionally I was just a mess. I missed Audrey and Ben too- not a good combo when you put it all together. Anyways, Ben came in the evening and sent me home. He's staying again tonight to be there with Judah and to feed him. I want to be there so badly but this is the second time this has flared up and I want to be feeling better when my Judah cub gets home. My man knows me so well, he told me "I know this is hard for you but I don't want you here first time in the morning either. Call me and we'll go from there" :) gosh I love that man.

Anyways- he's doing well. He's been off the oxygen for 12hours and seems to be tolerating it well. The plan is discharge tomorrow as long as things are okay. He's still having arrhythmia's but everything else is stable, his little heart is just healing and is working somethings out. If not, we know he's being taken care of by a mighty God and a fantastic team of doctors and nurses. We're not going to rush him and want him home when he's ready to come home.

I'm just so thankful that he's going to be home in a matter a day or days, compared to weeks. I just cried and cried thinking about the kiddos who have been there for weeks and months and how that must be for there families. Ben and I have been praying for the unit and the babies and kiddos that are there. It breaks our heart but we know that God is in control.

Thank you for your prayers and we'll keep the updates coming.
