Judah is 8 Months Old!

*Our computer has been on the outs and I kind of forgot I hadn't posted his 8month update... so almost 2 months late... Here's Judahcub at 8 months!!!

This is how I like to play with the wild woman's doll house

Oh Judahcub, your cheekies are sooo adorable

It fits!

Ooo! Whats down there Momma?

Weight: 23.5lbs
Height: not sure...
Wearing: some 12months but mostly 18-24mons

Sleeping:
Sooo looking forward to the post when I can say the cub is sleeping through the night... it's not this one :) We still are doing solid naps at 0930 and at 1330ish. Through the night he'll wake anywhere from 3-5hrs. Sometimes I can give him his bink and he'll sleep a little bit longer, sometimes. Another issue we are having with nighttime sleeps is he leaks through everything I put on him. His jammers and sheets are going to wear out with as much washing they are getting put through. I've tried my cloth diapers, I've tried expensive night time diapers, I've tried cheap-o diapers, the next size up diapers, and just about every brand. I'm beginning to think he wait until he's in his crib to completely drain his never ending bladder! The wild woman never pee'd like he does! haha It's unreal.

Eating:
No surprise Cub loves to eat! He's nursing about every 3.5-4hrs. We eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a family- Cub included. He loves sitting in his highchair at the table with us. It's something that is important to us as a family, eating together. Judah has been eating more and more lately. We go off of his cues and he decides how much he wants to eat. I make all of his food- and at the rate he's been eaten, I'm going to be spending some more time in the kitchen this week :) Some new foods this month: spinach, corn, peaches, puffers, kale, and strawberries. He's doing great with adding more texture to his food, he sill tooth-less so he gums everything. The wild woman was the same way.

Development:
On my birthday, Cub crawled!!! It was so exciting! He's doing the low army crawl, just like Aud did. He however, is showing more interest in crawling on his hands and knees. He'll hop up on his knees, get really excited and does a belly flop from trying to push forward so hard! He's trying to pull up on things (eek) and loves to get into my cupboards! Chase and tickle is a favorite game of his! After dinner when I'm on the floor picking dropped food (so he doesn't choke on them later) he thinks it's the funniest thing in the world when I pop up and nibble his toes! The silly things you do to get your kids to laugh. It doesn't take much to get Cub to giggle. Aud is the best at it! He's also super ticklish! The pincher grasp is coming along very nicely! He's babbling more and more. Favorite words are Dad and Bub. He started giving moochers, him making kissing noise. Wrestling is another new thing for the wild man. As soon as he see's that Aud is on the floor he is there crawling on top of her, pulling hair, giving fish hooks, mixed in with moochers. It's pretty comical to watch.

Rollin' Pat-a-cakies!

Judahcub loves playing patty cake. When the wild woman was his age, her favorite part was "AS FAST AS YOU CAN", Judahcubs favorite part is rollin' the pat-a-cakies!

Only the wildwoman

The wildwoman has a way of playing with her toys that just cracks me up. I find things like this all the time and just had to share. I love the way her sweet mind works.

Notice the donkey is behind the cart and Mary is pulling baby Jesus. I laughed pretty hard about this one.

Tunnel Time

The wild woman taught Judahcub how to crawl through the caterpillar tunnel and is now a favorite playtime activity for both of them! Aud called to him through the other end to get him get him to crawl through the tunnel, encouraging him the whole time- made this Momma pretty proud! Then, of course, they both had to be in it at the same time which lead to wrestle mania inside a caterpillar tunnel. I'd be lying if  I said I didn't find it just a little bit funny... okay,  I laughed out loud.

Reflecting.

This time last year we were submitting all the paperwork for an emergency move back to the states.

This time last year I was praying with all that I had for our unborn baby.

This time last year I was a complete train wreck thinking about my wildwoman flying half way across the world without me, and having to be apart from her for four day, the longest four days of my life.

This time last year I was loved on by so many people in so many ways that I didn't know what to do. Ladies came in and did my laundry, washed my dishes, cooked me meals, packed bags for me, loved on my girl, gave support to my man, and prayed.

It blows me away thinking about this. I relive those moments often.  I can still feel the uneven pavement and brick sidewalks under my feet as Ben and I walked to the car after finding our about Judah's heart. I can hear Ben calling his supervisor and asking for a meeting right away- I couldn't sit down in the car so I stood outside the car, shaking from the cold and raw emotion. I cleaned the car out as I listened to him explain what had just happened. There were grocery receipts and the wildwoman's books on the floor.

I can feel the way the couch felt as I sat down to show Aud the baby's pictures.

I know the clothes I wore that day. Every time I go my closet to pick out something to wear and I see that shirt- it takes me back,

But what renderes me speechless is looking at my son, knowing all the God has done is his precious life.

Thank you God for this year, for all the trials, for all the tears, for  the lessons learned, for showing me your hand, and for the people you put in my life. Thank you for my man, the man you made for me. Thank you for my babies, my sweet sweet babies. I give you all the glory, ALL.

Granola Cereal

In an effort to get rid of all processed food in our house, we started making our own cereal. Daddy and the wildwoman are huge fans of cereal (and so is this Momma on crazy mornings) and I wanted to try and find something that they could enjoy still.

I thought I'd share our recipe.

Jaimie's Granola Cereal
adapted from kitchenstewardship.com

Dry Ingredients:
3 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup nuts of your choice
*other add-ins like dried cranberries or rasins

Wet Ingredients:
1/4 cup melted coconut oil, or melted butter
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Preheat oven to 350.

 2. Comine the dry ingredients except add-ins *they will be added once the cooked granola has cooled. Combine wet ingredients and mix well. Mix the wet ingredients and dry ingredients together.

3. Spread on 9x13 inch pan and place in oven.

4. After 10 minutes, stir. Stir every 5mins until toasted to your liking.

5. Once cooled add your add-ins and store in air tight container.
